Leonard Catherine

Catherine witnessed the rebirth of the Southern Shakespeare Festival. Her previous experience studying Shakespeare under Kevin Carr coupled with her endeavors in business in the arts led her to its revival. She worked diligently as the Deputy Director for the Southern Shakespeare Festival, before accepting a position on the Board. Currently, she in working towards her Masters in Art Administration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Catherine is a Miami Beach native and continues to volunteer at the annual Art Deco Weekend Festival on South Beach every January, alongside her father. She has worked with the Miami Design Preservation League and with the Wolfsonian Museum.

Locally, Catherine has worked with the Tallahassee Trust for Historic Preservation, The Florida History Museum, The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, The Tallahassee Ballet, and The Resurgens Theatre Company. She was also in Class 1 of College Leadership Tallahassee.

Her first exposure to Shakespeare was seeing Othello starring James Earl Jones with her father. Art and Literature are continually important to her and she hopes to share this love with the people of Tallahassee.
