Michele Belson (Costume Designer) has been part of the FSU School of Theatre Costume Shop since 2004. She designed last year’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and built both costumes and props for SSC’s touring production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). For the Irish Repertory Theater, she designed The Cripple of Inishmann and Outside Mullingar. Additionally, she costumed Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing for Theatre Tallahassee, The Changeling for Resurgence, and Anne and Emmett, To Kill a Mockingbird and Zelda at the Oasis for Canopy Roads Theatre. Michele’s work also takes the field at Doak Stadium on the Marching Chief’s Drum Majors. Besides costuming, Michele is a hand weaver and Master Dyer and writes regularly for handweaving publications and teaches handweaving, dyeing, patternmaking and construction at Fiber Arts conferences across the country. Michele did her undergraduate work at Kansas University and Colorado State University.
