Ruben Arana

Ruben-Arana-300x300Ruben Arana (Scenic Designer) is a Tallahassee-based scenic designer who works in theatre, opera, dance, and film. He designed last year’s SSC production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as Twelfth Night and Bedroom Farce for Theatre Tallahassee and The Shaughraun and Outside Mullingar for Irish Repertory Theatre. Other credits include productions at Coppin State University, University at Albany, The State University of New York, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, Capital Repertory Theatre, The Duke Theatre, Stageworks Theatre, and Reid Temple Church. He is a faculty member at Florida A&M University where he has designed Gem of the Ocean, 5 Guys Named Mo, Black Nativity, The Color Purple, Oedipus Rex, Smokey Joe’s Café, The Mountaintop, The Exonerated, Since ’76, and The Colored Museum. His goal is to take a holistic approach to the personal and academic enrichment of a new generation of students utilizing the principles and processes of theatrical design.
