Tech Crew
A successful production takes a whole team to stage, and Southern Shakespeare Company (SSC) is always on the lookout for professionals to join our team!
- Stage Manager: assists with productions from auditions to load-out
- Assistant Stage Manager: reports to stage manager and assists as needed
- Stage Crew: help move scenery, set props, and various other backstage tasks
- Lighting Designer: designs the lighting for the show
- Light Board Operator: runs the light boards for the production
- Sound Designer: designs the sound effects and music for a show and may be in charge
of setting up microphones, speakers, etc - Sound Board Operator: runs the sound boards for the production
- Set Designer: designs all sets for the show
- Master Carpenter: oversees all set construction work
- Set Construction Assistance: helps build sets
- Scenic Painter: paints backdrop scenery and set pieces as designed
- Set Painting Assistance: helps paint sets
- Costume Designer: designs and produces costumes, including taking measurements
and sizes, creating costumes for each character, keeping costumes organized, and
maintaining upkeep and cleanliness of costumes throughout the production - Costume Assistance: assists costume designer, including taking measurements and
sizes, keeping costumes organized, and maintaining upkeep and cleanliness of
costumes throughout the production - Prop Master/Designer: purchases, borrows, or builds props as necessary and keeps
them organized and in good repair throughout the production - Photographer: conducts photoshoots for pre-production promotional materials as well as
live production photography and processes photos for use by SSC



Note: Crew commitments usually run anywhere from 3-6 weeks
