Southern Shakespeare Company’s 2026–2027 Season invites audiences to gather in spaces of celebration—from bars and masquerades to festivals and cabarets. Join us for the fifth annual Bar(d) Crawl, a touring Romeo & Juliet, our Youth Ensemble’s The Play’s The Thing!, the FREE Shakespeare in the Park Festival featuring The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Shakespeare Night Live.
These are stories about friendship, community, laughter, and people coming together. It’s a season designed to be shared.

SEPT. 18-19 2026
The Bar(d) Crawl
The season opens September 18–19 with the fifth annual Bar(d) Crawl, an immersive theatrical adventure featuring four Shakespeare scenes performed across three local bars, Hummingbird Wine Bar, The Monroe, and Battle Pony. Audience members will travel by trolley from stop to stop, enjoying drinks, theatre, and surprises along the way!

Romeo & Juliet
In November, SSC’s touring production of Romeo & Juliet will bring Shakespeare’s timeless tale of young love to schools and community audiences throughout the region. Featuring just five actors portraying an entire cast of characters, the production places special emphasis on the story’s iconic masquerade and the exhilarating energy of first love.

FEB. 25-28 2027
The Merry Wives of Windsor
The centerpiece of the season arrives February 25–28, 2027, with the company’s annual FREE Shakespeare in the Park Festival at Cascades Park, featuring Shakespeare’s beloved comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor. Directed by SSC Artistic Director James Alexander Bond, the production promises a joyful celebration of wit, mischief, and community.

MAY 7-9 2027
Shakespeare Night Live
The season concludes May 7–9, 2027, with Shakespeare Night Live, a fast-paced comedy event inspired by late-night sketch television. Blending Shakespearean language, modern humor, and live-performance energy, the production offers an irreverent and entertaining finale to the season.
