A Town Divided

A Town Divided is Southern Shakespeare Company’s original adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, set in Tallahassee, Fla. Based on interviews with local residents and developed as a way to examine the racial divide in our city, A Town Divided uses Shakespeare’s infamous plot line but delivers it with a modern twist. Hosted by TCC at Turner Auditorium and thanks to a generous grant from Leon County Schools, teachers and students from public schools in Leon County have four opportunities to attend this year’s live production and have access to the accompanying four-part digital curriculum free of charge. A live stream of the Friday, Feb. 11 performance and panel discussion is available free of charge to all teachers. A ticketed community performance will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10. Every performance includes discussion time with the cast and crew.
