A successful production takes a whole team to stage, and we are always on the lookout for professionals to join our team!

*Please note that optional recognition is available for FSU students. Southern Shakespeare Company will complete any required paperwork for students to receive credit for their experience with us. Please consult your academic departments for course credit or contact the Career Center for Experience Recognition Program credit or certificate.

LIGHTING DESIGNER & OPERATOR  (2024 FESTIVAL)

The Southern Shakespeare Company, a professional non profit theater dedicated to bringing fun, accessible Shakespeare to the Big Bend region, seeks an Assistant Stage Manager for its 2024 outdoor Festival production of The Winter’s Tale at Adderley Amphitheatre. The Lighting Designer and Operator will design the Amphitheatre lighting scheme to suit Director Shanara Gabrielle’s vision; research, order, and oversee installation of rented lighting equipment (and track/report equipment expenditures, which will be drawn from a separate lighting budget); and program and operate the lighting board during tech and show weeks.

Weekly Zoom production meetings will begin as soon as the position is filled; rehearsals will begin April 2024 (TBD based on cast availability). Tech week is May 5-8 and performances are May 9-12.

Compensation* is a $2,000 stipend.

PROPERTIES MASTER (2024 FESTIVAL)

The Southern Shakespeare Company, a professional non profit theater dedicated to bringing fun, accessible Shakespeare to the Big Bend region, seeks a Properties Master for its 2024 outdoor Festival production of The Winter’s Tale at Adderley Amphitheatre. The Properties Master will pull from SSC’s extensive inventory of props located at 136 Progress Drive to support the rehearsal room as well as furnish the show and assist with set dressing. Costume designer Katy Fedore and set designer Jack Jammer will be advisors and collaborators to these ends in order to deliver a cohesive look for the show under director Shanara Gabrielle’s direction.
