Shakespeare’s Greatest Love Story—Up Close and On the Move

Two young people. Two feuding families. One love that changes everything.

Southern Shakespeare Company takes Shakespeare on the road this November with a fast-paced, five-actor production of Romeo and Juliet created especially for schools and community audiences. This fresh adaptation captures the youthful energy, romance, humor, danger, and excitement of Shakespeare’s most famous love story while making the language and storytelling immediate and accessible for modern audiences. With just five actors bringing Verona’s lovers, families, friends, and foes to life, this inventive touring production puts the focus exactly where it belongs: on the characters, the language, and a story that still has the power to make audiences fall in love—and break their hearts—more than 400 years later.
